Sure. is only provided in a Windows format. And there are some extremely contrived work-around processes for me to get the video moved from one format to another, but I have yet to find one that actually works. In order to retrieve the video, you must use THEIR software. DO NOT buy this camera; it's not worth the hassle. Therefore, as a Mac user I am unable to download the videos to my computer for movie creation.
If you are a Mac user. In this day and age, when everyone (except Sony, of course) is moving toward universal standards, I am disgusted to find Sony's camera produces video based on a proprietary formatting. which SURPRISE. I can purchase "Parallels" and "windows" for a sum of about $200 more, so I can install their software, but why should I have to install that ridiculous operating system.
The only thing I'm still getting used to is the lack of a viewfinder. i.e: Rain, Snow, Fog.Buy ONE It's a great camera. It's compact, lightweight, and records great quality footage, even with adverse conditions.
It does not stay, but the only way to make it stop is by letting the camera rest. It was as if it had a wavy or shaky image. But now, after dealing with it for about 4 months, it happens all the time, after only using for about 5 minutes. The quality is good, the navigation is good, and the touch focus was especially good. But with the distorted quality, it takes the job forever. And it was very noticeable.
It is very time consuming and I am planning to get a new camera.Once again, the camera does the job with excellent quality. I had the camera for about 6 months of it working excellent. But after about 6 months of having the camera, the CMOS sensor started to cause the camera to have a distorted image. At first this only happened occasionally.
I recommend this and ANY other products from Sony. I believe there is a newer version of this camera out now, but this one is ABSOLUTELY the perfect match for my small hands. VERY Quick delivery of ONE excellent product. The pictures are SO clear and the camera is SO easy to use. I had waited two weeks for this camera on Back order from Sony. Couldn't take it anymore and purchased from Amazon. I love the minimal amount of details and knowledge needed to operate this camcorder and produce optimum videos.
I like this model. Simple and compact.Sound and Video quality is damn good.
